How we collect your personal information
Information You Provide to Us
By filling out any form either emailed to you or from any of our websites, you give us permission to store this information within our database and use for reasons described in this policy. Information may also be voluntarily provided by you by providing your information over the phone, downloading and installing our applications, accessing and using one or more of our software services.
Information collected through use of our applications may be used to better gauge the needs of customers, to better design and develop existing and future software. We may directly collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools and services, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the applications. These tools collect information sent by your browser or mobile device, including the pages you visit and other information that assists us in improving our applications. We collect and use this analytics information in aggregate form such that it cannot reasonably be manipulated to identify any particular individual user.
At times, we may ask and require location tracking and permission within our apps. The purpose of this is to allow the Bluetooth of the tablet to connect to an external or third party printer. TwinPeaks does not collect, track or store location data. To link the tablet with the printer, location data is required.
Information Provided by a Third-Party
We may receive information about you from third parties. That third party may pass certain information about your use of its service to us. This information could include, but is not limited to: the user ID associated with your account, an access token necessary to access that service, any information that you have permitted the third party to share with us, and any information you have made public in connection with that service. You should always review, and if necessary, adjust your privacy settings on third-party websites and services before linking or connecting them to our applications.
When you visit our site or use our application, we may send one or more cookies to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser and lets us help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through our site. A cookie may also convey information to us about how you use our site (e.g., the pages you view, the links you click and other actions you take on the Service), and allow us or our business partners to track your usage of our website over time. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of our application or site may not function properly if the ability to accept cookies is disabled.
How we use your personal information
At times, with your permission, we may post already published articles previously written about you, case studies, or testimonials you’ve written for advertising purposes. We may also provide your contact information, to be used as a reference, to potential customers, or post your logo on our website. Information found in the public domain may be used and/or posted on our websites without permission; in such cases, we may ask for additional permissions to post non-public information.
We also have an email newsletter that we distribute to all of our customers and potential customers. You may opt out of these communications at any time via a link within the email.
We will use your email address, phone number and/or mobile phone number on file, without your further consent, for administrative communications to you, including, but not limited to: Changes made to the software, potential outages, or marketing of other TwinPeaks’ products. You may not opt out of administrative communications about potential outages to the software for as long as you are using our services.
If you wish to change your communication settings, you may do so in writing, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling our office.
Vendors and Other Service Providers
When you purchase physical products such as hardware or supplies, your contact information will be shared with vendors and fulfillment centers that ship the product(s) to you. These vendors have their own privacy policies that may differ from ours. You understand that these vendors may use, export, or sell your contact information once provided for fulfillment. Vendor contact information is available upon request. We suggest that you read their privacy policies and contact them with your concerns. We are not responsible for your information that we have provided to our affiliates in order to provide service to you.
Third party links
We offer connectivity between our websites and services to other third-party software or services. By using and connecting our applications to third-parties, you grant us permission to share required information to provide these services to you. Opting out of these services may limit use of or otherwise make an application fail. Third party software or services may have different privacy policies and we urge you to be aware of how they handle your information. However, the core functionality of our website or application is able to run without third-party software. Connectivity to third party software is offered as an enhancement to our software and services.
Third party hardware
We offer third party hardware as a courtesy to you. Any hardware, such as POS hardware, is sold directly through TwinPeaks: you will never be redirected to a third party site. As a courtesy during support, we may disclose information about you to solve your hardware-related issue with the vendor of that product.
How your personal information is protected
We know how important your privacy is. All information collected is maintained on secure servers either owned by us or stored in a data center with restricted physical access. We use a variety of security measures to secure your data, including regular backups, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates and technology. Accesses to all servers are restricted and we use a variety of security measures to secure access and your data. Your entire credit card number is encrypted and saved on our servers for monthly and future charges. However, the last four digits of your credit card number may be stored in a non-encrypted format and used to track your transaction history. Please note that we cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons will not be able to defeat our security measures locally or at a third party, though we have taken preventative measures to secure your data from theft.
